Philip Housden

Director and Principal Consultant

With over 30 years industry experience, Philip has a wide and deep range of experience and skills relating to the NHS, public and private healthcare organisations. His expertise includes health economies, commercial options, clinical solutions, and strategic solutions that complement the NHS/private patient dynamic. He has a consistent successful track record of delivering improved business performance and service change.

Philip is the PPU Correspondent for Independent Practitioner Today and writes a regular column. He was Inaugural Consultant Editor of the British Journal of Health Care Management and past Chair of the Henley Alumni ‘Healthcare Special Interest’ Group.

Andrew Russell

Associate Director and Principal Consultant

Andrew is a highly experienced commercial healthcare executive with extensive industry knowledge relating to both the private and NHS markets. He offers practical, insightful, and value-added advice for a wide range of M&A, industry strategy, business development and turnaround projects.

Andrew leads the production of our dynamic finance and activity modelling that supports strategy development, market research, business cases and review and consideration of corporate structures.

Jo Johnson

Principal Consultant and Clinical Lead

Jo’s professional experience includes over 25 years of advanced nursing practice and operational and strategic management experience. She has a proven track record in delivering commercial clinical projects and implementing change across healthcare settings throughout the NHS, private and independent sectors through innovative service design and systematic restructuring to streamline financial sustainability and enhance patient care.  

Jo is proficient in transformational project management with operational budgetary control, and her expertise is underpinned by extensive knowledge of operational, strategic, quality assurance and governance frameworks.  She has a global understanding of all aspects of care delivery which has allowed her to bridge organisational boundaries to drive change that is evidence-based, safe and sustainable.

Beth Rankine

Associate Marketing Consultant

Beth is a highly experienced marketing and business development professional with specific knowledge of the healthcare sector. For over 25 years she has worked agency-side, in-house for private healthcare providers, and now independently, delivering creative and practical marketing strategies which provide business efficiencies, growth, and ROI.

Proficient in a range of marketing tactics, including Brand, PR, Events, Social Media and Digital Marketing, she has delivered successful marketing campaigns and projects for many leading healthcare providers including: the NHS, UK-based private hospital groups and oncology specialists, and a wide range of SMEs and individual healthcare consultants.

Charlotte Sinnerton

Associate Project Consultant

Charlotte has more than 10 years’ experience providing project management and consultancy services to the healthcare sector. She specialises in contract and tariff negotiations, stakeholder engagement business development and operational delivery.

Charlotte has worked with a range of NHS Trusts developing new teams to take on NHS cost and quality inputs and tariff negotiations and is experienced at service (re)designing administrative team functions, identifying opportunities to increase charge capture, and maximising income recovery.

Lizette Pieterson

Associate Project Consultant

With extensive experience in hiring, building, and managing teams and a track record of building a strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders, Lizette is adept at identifying areas that require improvement, finding innovative and practical solutions, and implementing them.

She has a Business Management diploma and considerable experience working with NHS and local authority healthcare funding. Her skills also include customer services, contract negotiation, procurement, financial management, and project management.
