The 2020 NHS PPU Service Development Conference was held at St Thomas’ Hospital, London in mid-March. It included the inaugural Private Patient Service Development Professional Achievement Awards.

The awards recognised excellence in NHS PPUs, particularly the ‘unsung heroes’.  Nominations came from across the country in three categories with each finalist demonstrating dedication in delivering excellence to customers – whether those customers are patients and their relatives, consultants and their secretaries, insurers or colleagues.

Congratulations to the deserving winners, who were:

1 Best Customer and Patient Experience: Endri Setyawati, chef at Bournemouth Private Clinic, Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

2 Leading Administration and Back of House Team: Elyas Talha, International Patients Manager, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Private Healthcare

3 Service Leader for Growth and Development: Sarah Porter, Private and Overseas Manager, Parkside Suite, Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust

The awards were presented to the finalists and winners by Nick Dawson, NHSE&I and Philip Housden, Housden Group, who also compered the ceremony.
